There are windows outside where you can look in and see churros and other pastries being made. From the inside by the register where you place your order is a glass panel just up to head high where you can watch from in the restaurant while you are waiting.
While we were waiting a lady was back there making delicious looking things. One of which was meringue that was being whipped in a mixing bowl and to be put on top of tarts. While she was putting the meringue from the bowl into a pastry bag my husband said to her "you should charge to lick the bowl". She said "we'd probably make some money on that", and we all laughed. A few seconds later she came up to the window with several plastic spoons and the bowl of meringue and gave us each a spoon full! She said "I think Rick would approve". We were happily amazed! I do not like meringue but this was not just beaten egg whites, I don't know what else they put in it but it was thick and rich and very good!
My husband ordered the Ahogada Torta: Golden pork carnitas, black beans, tomato broth, spicy arbol chile sauce and pickled onions. He said it was fantastic the soup and the sandwich and he would order it again if we went back!
I ordered the Woodland Mushroom Torta: Wood-roasted garlic mushrooms, Prairie Fruits Farm goat cheese, black beans, wild arugula, 3-chile salsa. It was amazing! The goat cheese was so creamy and rich and through out every bite. And everything was extremely fresh!
And for desert we had Churros and Hot Chocolate.
We had the Barcelona Hot Chocolate, thick rich and creamy
liquid love!
They make 5 different kinds of Hot Chocolate!
Barcelona: thick, rich
